Description: The data set depicts the selection of provincial Crown minerals only. Land claim selections do not encumber freehold minerals or private surface rights. During the selection period, undisposed Crown minerals are unavailable for dispositioning under The Crown Minerals Act. Crown minerals subject to land claims change regularly. Once a new Indian reserve is established, the record is removed from the dataset. Copyright Text: The Land Claims Database is updated daily based on information supplied to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources from the Saskatchewan Ministry of First Nations and Métis Relations (FNMR). FNMR is the provincial agency responsible for coordinating the review of land claim selections. Records maintained in the Land Claims Database are extracted twice weekly and uploaded to the map server as the Land Claim Selections dataset.
